Here are the images from the afterball session we shot today with the gorgeous Nikki, Chanelle, Jess, Sydney, and Georgia.
We kicked off at a grungy urban location, and then moved along to a cool field. The rain arrived halfway through – but that only makes the sky look even better, and gave us an excuse to get the umbrellas into the shots too!
The concept behind this photo shoot was that usually, girls only wear their gorgeous ball dress one time… and the photos you get in it are in front of the “standard” back drop along with everyone elses.
So this is a way of getting to wear the dress again, and having fun with some mates at the same time.
We’re going to be doing these “afterball shoots” at a special introductory price of $100 for the session… and then $100 per person to buy your files on a disc, to print as you want.
The session cost can be split between up to 5 people…. so you would only need to chip in $20 each if there are 5 of you… and then you each pay the $100 for a disc of gorgeous photos.
That price will probably go up soon, but for now you can get some amazing shots in your ball dress for not much $$ at all
**Edit** – Since posting this – we’ve had a few questions about whether we could do a shoot like this pre-ball. Answer = of course! Just make sure you allow enough time between when you get your hair / makeup done and when you need to leave. Also – we can really only shoot one session per ball – so first in first served. After the ball – we can take as many shoots on as you want
Here’s the stuff we shot today – love them!!

Hey guys,
Last night, we photographed the HBHS school ball at the Verandah, by Hamilton Lake.
It was an awesome venue, and the ball committee did a great job coordinating the various parts of the evening, which came together without a hitch.
We had a cool fairy light backdrop to work with for the formal photos, and also took the chance to get a little experimental with some long exposure shots on the dancefloor – making the lights all swirly and just generally looking cool.
Make sure you also check out our Facebook page if you haven’t yet – once you “like” the page, you can also comment on, and tag, the photos there.
So here’s a little peek at how the photos are looking so far – more to come next week, so keep an eye out on Facebook.

Yesterday morning, we caught up Grant & Patsy for a fun photo shoot around downtown Auckland.
We got some FANTASTIC shots – here’s a tiny taste of how they’re looking
More to come, after Grant & Patsy have had the chance to pop in to our studio and choose the ones they want.
Enjoy!
Isaac.

Hi guys,
On Saturday, we headed up to Auckland to photograph Hamish & Rachel’s wedding.
The day began cloudy – and cold! Luckily though, the rain held off, and we had some beautiful dramatic skies to play with… which we love!
It was perfectly timed, because the following day brought torrential rain that didn’t stop for hours!
We visited the boys first off, for a few shots…

Then it was around the the girls place… where there were some gorgeous details…

And Rachel was looking stunning!!

Down at the church, Amber got this great shot of Rachel being helped out of the car – I love it with a grainy black & white tone.

Rachel and Dad, waiting for the moment when she walks into the church.

While I was wandering around shooting candids during the mix & mingling time after the ceremony.. I noticed the nanna’s, checking out Rachel’s ring. Love it.

We then headed off with the bridal party for some photos. The church where they were married is in Blockhouse Bay – so we headed down the road to French Bay in Titirangi, which was first stop for some photos.
The wind was coming in across the sea – and it was COLD.
Everyone did so well though – and no-one looks cold in the shots, which is the main thing!!

Shooting at French Bay was really special for Amber & I – because that’s where we were married three & a half years ago… and we had our photos there too. It was really cool to re-live some of those experiences, this time on the other end of the camera!
The daylight was quickly fading – and we still needed to make it out to Brigham Creek for the reception. So we bundled into the cars, and headed off.
On the way, we made a stop at a fantastic old shack that we had found about a week earlier while scouting out locations.

It’s times like this that I’m really grateful for the amount of lighting gear we bring along to every wedding. It makes us the butt of many jokes from our photographer friends, the way our car is packed to the roof all the time… but there’s no way we could have achieved these images without them!

We had so much fun with you all!
I’m sure that Samoa is much warmer than New Zealand at the moment
Enjoy the photos – and we’ll have more soon.
Isaac & Amber
