Alex & Catherine’s Auckland wedding, sneak peek! – Hyatt Hotel wedding photos

Saturday January 2nd, 2010 at 1:34 am | 4 Comments »

Hi guys,

Happy New Year!

We welcomed in 2010 with a bang – celebrating Cat & Alex’s wedding in Auckland.

Their ceremony was at St Kentigern College in Pakuranga – and it was fantastic!
It’s the first time I’ve ever heard secular songs sung as hymns by the entire congregation – “Love me Do” by the Beatles and “One Love” by Bob Marley – it was awesome to hear everyone singing along!!

Afterwards, we headed out for some photos – beginning atop the blustery Mount Eden, and then going on to some dodgy alleyways, finishing up at Kohimarama Beach with some Pohutakawa trees to always remind them of their summertime wedding!

After photographing their entrance to the reception, and the first half hour or so, we headed off as we usually do… went out for dinner as we always do after weddings (Monsoon Poon this time, yummy!) – and then at 11.30pm we headed back to the reception to shoot some of the New Year celebrations.

We got some gorgeous shots of the fireworks launched from the Sky Tower, and finished up with some love hearts drawn in the air with sparklers.

A fantastic way for us to welcome in the New Year – doing something we love!

Congrats on a fantastic wedding Alex & Cat – enjoy this little sneak peek at your photos :)

Brent & Stacey’s Sarnia Park wedding photos – sneak peek!

Wednesday December 30th, 2009 at 10:13 pm | 5 Comments »

Hi guys,

Yesterday we headed out to Sarnia Park in Cambridge to photograph Brent & Stacey’s wedding – which, although rain made an appearance throughout the day, proved perfect conditions for photography!

It was touch & go as to whether they’d get to have the ceremony outside – and just as Stacey was walking up the aisle, the sun came out for the first time of the day!

It then conveniently disappeared behind the dramatic clouds for some photos around the Sarnia Park grounds, and nearby lake Karapiro, and just as the bridal party made their entrance into the reception, it began to pour down again. Perfect!

Enjoy this little sneak peek of the photos :)

Ahmad & Yashuree’s Formosa wedding photographs – sneak peek!

Monday December 21st, 2009 at 10:54 am | 20 Comments »

Hi guys,

On Saturday we headed up to Auckland to photograph Ahmad & Yashuree’s wedding, which was held at Formosa in Beachlands.

We began with some pre-ceremony bridal party photos in the city – where we wandered around the block, getting in some great locations, and finishing up at the Auckland Uni clock tower – which had some great (albeit rather Christmassy) pillars & columns.

Then it was off to Formosa, where they had their ceremony, followed by some photos with just the two of them around the Formosa grounds. Ahmad had a great time driving the golf cart which we used to get around the photo spots!! We found some beautiful long grass, which allowed for some dramatic, sweeping skyline shots.

We stayed for their reception too – which was fantastic, as we had the chance to get some sunset shots – and also photograph the dancing, which is a part of the day I love to shoot!

We had a fantastic time with you all – thanks for having us along to share in the day! Enjoy this little sneak peek at how the photos are looking :)

Daniel & Larissa’s Woodlands wedding photos – sneak peek!

Monday December 14th, 2009 at 2:23 am | 27 Comments »

Hey guys,

On Saturday we headed out to Woodlands to photograph Daniel & Larissa’s wedding.

Early in the morning the rain was pelting down – and it was looking a bit grim outside… but by the time the ceremony took place, the rain had cleared up, and we had gorgeous sunny weather for the remainder of the day. Perfect!!

Their ceremony was beautiful – heartfelt and emotional. I love the shot of Larissa walking down the aisle with her dad – only just holding back the tears. Larissa’s brother read a poem that had pretty much everyone (including Amber & I) wiping their eyes afterwards.

We then went for a wander around the gardens at Woodlands for some photos with the bridal party – the sunlight brings a beautiful warmth to the images that I really like!

It was a fantastic day – thank you both for having us along with you to share a part in it :)

Enjoy the photos!

David & Nikki’s wedding – sneak peek! Hamilton Reformed Church, Hamilton Gardens wedding photos

Sunday December 13th, 2009 at 12:46 am | 23 Comments »

Hi guys,

On Friday we had the pleasure of photographing David & Nikki’s wedding at the Reformed Church, followed by a fun photoshoot around the Hamilton Gardens.

After their ceremony, they went off for a reception lunch – and we headed home to put our feet up for a few hours, meeting up with the bridal party afterwards for some photos.

We began at a wharf by the river, which was where David proposed to Nikki – so a very special place!!

Then it was off to the Hamilton Gardens… we started off with some shots utilizing the amazing, dramatic clouds – just stunning!
The bridal party then decided they’d like to make a whirlpool in the fountain…. along with a valiant “Blue Steel” signature look (watch Zoolander if you’re confused!).

The very end of the day was marked by the boys shaving off their beards that they had been growing – which was a hilarious way to cap off a fantastic photo shoot.

We had a really great time, enjoy the photos!

Hi guys,

Yesterday we had the pleasure of photographing Lisa & Lotovale’s wedding – which took place at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

The rain which had persisted the entire week finally decided to clear up – and we were blessed with some fantastic blue skies & dramatic clouds over the Hamilton Lake.

It was so much fun working with them & their bridal party – and I’m sure the evening celebrations would have been an awesome party!!

Here’s a little sneak peek of some shots – enjoy!

Canvas prints – looking good!! Family photos on canvas – Hamilton

Thursday December 3rd, 2009 at 11:14 am | 3 Comments »

Hi guys,

Here’s a few shots of recent canvas prints that have arrived back.

The shots here don’t do them justice – but do at least give you an idea of the sizes.
Sorry about the logo over the corner – couldn’t be bothered modifying my Photoshop action just for these shots – you still get the gist :)

Waiting on a 60″ one to arrive shortly – that’ll be awesome! The biggest one here (first shot) is 48″ – so another 12″ longer than that.

Enjoy.

Isaac.

Katie & Ryan’s Foobridge Lodge wedding photos – sneak peek! 28th November

Sunday November 29th, 2009 at 2:45 am | 9 Comments »

Hi guys,

It has been a busy weekend!! On Friday night, Amber & I headed up to Auckland, and went to the Pearl Jam show – it was an awesome night!

Then today we photographed Katie & Ryan’s wedding at Footbridge Lodge in Bombay. Usually, we listen to music really loud while we’re driving out to begin a wedding, to amp ourselves up – but this weekend we had the real thing – so were even more excited!

Katie & Ryan were such a genuine & lovely couple – nothing was too much trouble for them, and they didn’t let the showers of rain stop them from having a fantastic day. Katie’s smile & their laughter shines through in the shots – just too easy to work with! These guys were perfect examples of being relaxed & natural in front of the cameras – and just enjoying themselves!

Here’s a little sneak peek of what we came up with – thanks guys, for having us along to share in your special day – we had a great time with you!

Sarah & Ian’s Karekare wedding photos – sneak peek!

Tuesday November 24th, 2009 at 2:07 pm | 3 Comments »

Hi guys,

Yesterday we headed up to the gorgeous Karekare beach to catch up with Sarah & Ian – who had flown over from Canada especially to be married here.

They had 10 of their friends who had flown over with them, and that made up the entire numbers of the wedding – which was so beautiful & intimate.

Prior to the ceremony, everyone was relaxing at the Karekare bach they had hired – a few beers & glasses of bubbles and lots of laughs were had by all.

Then we wandered down to the beach, where they had their ceremony – officiated by Peta Hardley – without a doubt the coolest celebrant in the whole wide world!

Afterwards, we took a few photos of everyone – and then headed off with just Ian & Sarah to make the most of the beautiful New Zealand landscape surrounding us.

Here’s a little peek at what we came up with.

Enjoy!!

Isaac & Amber :)
